Job Overview: The Director of Membership is responsible for the overall management of the membership program for a boutique luxury members club in the West Village neighborhood of New York City. This includes developing and executing membership strategies, managing the membership growth and intake, and providing excellent hospitality to members through a regularly established presence at the club. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in the private club industry, as well as strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and business development skills. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute membership strategies that align with the club's overall business goals

  • Build and manage the membership team and ensure that they are meeting intake targets and strategy goals

  • Provide excellent customer service to members and prospective members

  • Implement, oversee, and manage the membership database and CRM to put together accurate data and reports

  • Act as an ambassador of the club, fielding member enquiries, complaints, and general feedback in a timely and professional manner.Work with other departments to ensure that the club's membership program is meeting the needs of members

  • Collaborate with Marketing Department to formalize communications and messaging to members and the  local community 

  • Own relationship with membership committee members, hosting quarterly committee meetings and bringing in new committee members as you see fit

  • Define and enforce club rules for members and their guestsCreating a definitive process for membership applicants

  • Ahead of opening, develop and implement member and committee engagement strategies, to ensure a smooth and exciting launch in Q3 2024. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field

  • 8+ years of experience in the private clubs, public relations or direct to consumer business development 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends 

  • A long-term resident of New York City with contacts in multiple industries 

  • Passionate about interacting with people, creating experiences and opportunities for people to network 

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Rate: $130-$150k, plus potential for performance bonus 

  • Full-time employees are eligible for full benefits: Health and Dental benefits 

  • Paid time off:  full-time employee receive five sick days, fifteen vacation days and holidays
